Passing the Books--Soperton Style

The below photographs and captions are from the March 30, 1983 edition of the Soperton News

"The students of Treutlen Elementary School became personally involved in moving to the new library, as school buses transported them downtown for an hour of exercise Tuesday morning.  More than 500 students, under faculty supervision, formed two files between the old library and the new one.  Books were passed from hand to hand, and the human chain delivered several shelves full with hardly a spill. "

. . . down the street. . .

. . . and around the corner. . .

. . . the books were passed along. . .

. . . to take their place on new shelves in a new library.
