Dublin Talking Books Center

Patrons of the Dublin Talking Books Center have access to computers using programs designed especially for blind, visually impaired, and physically disabled individuals.  A sitting area for walk-in patrons is available.   

Assistive technology for our patrons to use at the Laurens County Library location:

  • Computers with JAWS (screen reader - reads each screen aloud) and Zoomtext screen magnifier
  • 2 TeleSensory print magnifiers
  • Scanner (for document or photo scanning to e-mail or disc)
  • Kurzweil Reading Edge (stand alone scanner converts print to speech)
  • Pico illuminated magnifier
  • Braille Embosser

The Talking Books Center has approximately 295 descriptive videos, 5,000 large print titles, and over 20,000 titles available in special format for our visually impaired, blind, and physically disabled patrons.

The latest Digital Talking Book Machines may need firmware updates from time to time. To get the latest update, go to the NLS DTBM Firmware website
